It is a big shame that in a country like Nigeria, the self-acclaimed fastest growing economy in Africa, the polytechnics and colleges of education teachers have been on strike for several months now, yet, the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, is busy pursuing his political agenda in Rivers State. Most of these students are daily influenced into various vices like armed robbery, kidnapping, and so on. It is unfortunate that the government of the day led by President Goodluck Jonathan is only interested in the 2015 election. The only solution to insecurity in Nigeria is to keep our children busy and productively engaged. An idle mind, they say, is the devil’s hand tool. The time has come for Wike resolved the lingering impasse with the polytechnic lecturers so our children can go back to school.
